छत्तीसगढ़ के मनेन्द्रगढ़-चिरिमिरी-भरतपुर जिले में तेंदुए के हमले में एक महिला की मौत हो गई है। वन विभाग के अधिकारियों ने यह जानकारी दी। उन्होंने बताया कि जिले में गत एक महीने के दौरान तेंदुए के हमले की यह तीसरी घटना है। इन घटनाओं में दो महिलाओं की मौत हो गई है जबकि एक लड़का घायल हुआ है। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि जिले के जनकपुर वन परिक्षेत्र के कुंवारी बीट के अंतर्गत सिंगरौली गांव में तेंदुए के हमले में उमाबाई बैगा (54) की मौत हो गई है।
उन्होंने बताया कि विभाग को जानकारी मिली है कि उमाबाई सुबह शौच के लिए गई थीं, तभी गांव के करीब तेंदुए ने उनपर हमला कर दिया और उन्हें खींचकर झाड़ियों के भीतर ले गया। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि बाद में जब ग्रामीणों से वन विभाग को घटना की जानकारी मिली तब घटनास्थल के लिए दल रवाना किया गया तथा शव को बरामद किया गया। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि उमाबाई के गले और सिर में तेंदुए के दांतों के गहरे निशान मिले है। वन विभाग ने उमाबाई के परिजनों को तत्कालिक सहायता राशि 25 हजार रुपए प्रदान की है। शेष 5.75 लाख रुपए शासन के नियमानुसार सभी औपचारिकताएं पूर्ण होने के बाद दी जाएगी।
कुंवारी बीट में पिछले 20 दिनों के दौरान तेंदुए के हमले की यह तीसरी घटना है। पिछले माह की 11 तारीख को इस बीट के तितौली गांव के जंगल में पशुओं को चराने गई वृद्धा फूलझरिया (80) पर तेंदुए ने हमला किया था जिससे उनकी मौत हो गई थी। वहीं 23 दिसंबर को तेंदुए ने छापरटोला गांव में घर के आंगन में खेल रहे आठ वर्षीय बालक सुरेश पर हमला कर उसे दबोच कर भागने की कोशिश की थी, लेकिन तेंदुआ बालक को लेकर घर का आहाता फांद नहीं पाया और बालक को छोड़कर भाग निकला। वन विभाग के अधिकारियों ने बताया कि तेंदुए को पकड़ने की कोशिश की गई , लेकिन सफलता नहीं मिली।
