Chief Minister Nagaland Neiphiu Rio along with his deputy and state BJP leader Yanthungo Patton called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and several other central leaders in New Delhi on Monday.This came days after the NDPP-BJP alliance retained power in Nagaland by winning 37 seats in the 60-member Assembly which went to poll last month, the result of which was declared on March

Under his leadership, the new government will work towards making Nagaland a State of Excellence and usher-in genuine peace and development,’ tweeted Rio, who was accompanied by Y Patton and Metsubo Jamir, who was appointed as minister of Rural Development, SIRD, in the newly formed government.
Shah also took to social media to congratulate the leaders from Nagaland.

Nagaland chief minister updated that he along with Patton and Abu Metha, Advisor to CM, met with union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda and ‘had a positive discussion on various developmental issues for the uplift of tribals’. They also called on Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on the same day.
Accompanied by Metsubo Jamir and Abu Metha, the CM also called on Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union MoS for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Electronics and IT, wherein they “exchanged thoughts on strengthening and taking optimum advantage of opportunities in the IT and entrepreneurship sector in the state.
‘Called on Smt. Smriti Z. Irani, Hon’ble Union Minister for Women and Child Development, and Minority Affairs. Grateful for her time and for the insightful discussion on various policies, especially on women development and uplift of minorities,’ he wrote. In another tweet, he updated that ‘they had a fruitful exchange of ideas for promotion of culture, tourism and socio-economic development of the state’ with Union Minister of Culture, Tourism and MDoNER G Kishan Reddy.
